We take a critical look at the week's top stories from business, politics and society. Participants will practice summarizing, argumentation, constructive criticism, disagreeing and finding consensus. Focus on prepared speaking, building alternative vocabulary, and speaking skills. At noon on January 20th, a president will be sworn in on the steps of the US Capitol. Will it be Biden or Trump, or perhaps even Kamala Harris (if Biden were elected but unable to assume the duties of the president, for example)? Will it remain peaceful? What will it mean for Germany, the EU, China, and the current conflicts in Ukraine and Palestinian territories if Biden or Trump are elected? Has there been a "Trump Effect" in Europe over the past decade?
