About our tutors
In addition to their experience as described below, all our tutors have taken part in a Cambridge English Assessment tutor training programme.
Course Director – Emma Jones
Emma works at the Munich Volkshochschule as CELTA Course Director, Exams Administrator and Coordinator of the Programme in English, she also does some freelance in-company teaching in and around Munich as well as for the. She has run teacher training workshops and seminars for the Pädagoisches Institut.
Before moving to Munich, Emma worked at City College Manchester as an EFL teacher where she also completed her Dip.TESOL awarded by Trinity College London.
Emma is co-author of The Ultimate Guide to CELTA, a helpful book for anyone considering doing a CELTA course.
Senior Tutor – Amanda Momeni
Amanda has been running the CELTA courses at the Munich Volkshocschule with Emma since 2011, she is also the co-author of The Ultimate Guide to CELTA as mentioned above.
As well as a CELTA tutor, Amanda is an experienced TEFL teacher who has worked in both Munich and Spain. She has taught a wide variety of ELT courses including business and general English courses for adults and also has many years experience of teaching very young learners. Amanda is partly responsible for candidate selection as well as the administration work on the CELTA course.
Tutor – Adrian Doff
Adrian has extensive teaching and teacher training experience. He has taught in Germany, Finland, former Yugoslavia, Lebanon and the UK. He has trained teachers in many countries including Germany, Egypt, South Africa, Poland, Turkey and Japan. Adrian is the author of several ELT coursebooks and of a teacher training course for inexperienced teachers.
Tutor – Ilá Coimbra
Ilá has been an EFL teacher since 2000, a teacher trainer since 2011 and has taught a wide variety of ELT courses, from general to business English and exam preparation courses for adults. She works at the Munich Volkshochschule as an English and Portuguese teacher, as well as CELTA tutor. She's also the co-author of Raise Up!, a coursebook that aims to make the ELT classroom more inclusive and diverse.
Tutor – Julia Flyng
Julia is an experienced EFL teacher who has taught in Munich since 1992. Julia teaches general and business English courses and specialises in legal English.
